Motley Local partnered with the Gibsonville Merchants Association—through the Gibsonville Garden Railroad and with support from the Town of Gibsonville—to apply for a Duke Energy Foundation grant and propose a project to serve and support the downtown business community in Gibsonville. After winning the grant, the micro grant program (November 2021-February 2022) empowered the participating businesses with funds to directly address their problems and challenges identified in a continuing pandemic in numerous ways. The Hometown Revitalization program issued a total of 24 grants to Gibsonville independently-owned businesses.
